Meet Awilda

Star Wars, vintage clothing, and sneaking into grad school: what on earth do these things have to do with Human Resources?

Come on in and have a seatβ€”let’s talk about it.

Let’s start here: HR is tough. It’s about making life-changing decisions that impact people’s lives and careers. These moments aren’t easy, and they can linger with you. That’s why I believe HR professionals thrive when they prioritize their mental health and embrace positive psychology. It’s about staying strong for yourself and for others.

But HR isn’t my only passion. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve discovered that the same principles that drive effective HRβ€”connection, empathy, and strategyβ€”also fuel my love for Marketing, Branding, and Design. These fields are all about understanding people, telling compelling stories, and creating connections.

The Roots of HR Psych

I started HR Psych because I couldn’t keep all that experience bottled up. Armed with a Bachelor’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Master’s in Human Resource Management, I built HR Psych on three core pillars: Coaching, Consultation, and Education. Over time, it’s grown into so much more, offering a full suite of services:

  • HR Services: Building inclusive, people-first workplaces.

  • Marketing & Branding: Crafting authentic narratives that elevate your business.

  • Website Design: Designing sleek, functional websites to amplify your presence.

  • Social Media Management: Turning platforms into communities that drive engagement and growth.

HR is in My DNA

My mother, an active-duty military professional, worked tirelessly to earn her degrees in HR. As a kid, I tagged along to her night classes, absorbing her grit and passion like osmosisβ€”or magic, depending on how you look at it. Her determination shaped my belief that you can forge your own path while staying true to who you are.

Why I Care

I’m here to flip the script on how people see HRβ€”and the professionals behind it.

  • It’s okay to be different. I’m a Star Wars-loving, vintage clothes-wearing, tattooed Latina professional, and I’ve built a career that blends the best of HR and creativity. Your authenticity is your superpower.

  • It’s okay to be challenged. Growth comes from disruption. I embrace every challenge as a chance to learn and get better.

  • One-size-fits-all is over. Whether it’s HR solutions or branding strategies, everything I do is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

The days of rigid, intimidating corporate HR are over. I’m proud to be part of a cultural shift where human connection, creativity, and innovation take center stage. Whether it’s building stronger workplaces, designing standout brands, or crafting engaging digital spaces, I’m here to help you move into the futureβ€”with purpose and style.
